Class A CDL Driver

Key Skills

• Must be able to obtain and maintain class A CDL.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain CDL Physical card.
• Manage electronic log book.
• Load and unload heavy machinery such as forklifts and gantry systems.
• Operate machinery such as forklifts and other heavy equipment.
• Physically secure loads with chain and binders.
• Occasionally be able to be out of home area over night.
• Communicate with customers regarding loading and unloading of equipment.
• Communicate with customers and staff via cell phone, computer email or company specific software.
• Perform preventative maintenance such as brake adjustment, fluid level inspection.
• Operate both class A and class B equipment.
• Operate equipment such as step deck, drop deck, low boy and other specialty trailers.
• Understand basic rigging and equipment safety and procedural policy such as hand signals.
• Physically able to lift items in excess of 50 lbs, pass physicians physical and drug test.
• Communicate with customers and management daily status of job progress, discrepancies, and open items.
• Attend and pass advanced training in safety and operations of equipment and local and federal regulatory compliance.
• Complete DVIR’s in a thorough and timely manner.
• Complete pre and post trip inspections of all equipment.
• Comply with all IDOT, FMCSA laws, codes, and procedures.

Education and Experience

• 5-10 years of experience in specific industry
• Class A CDL
• CDL Physical Card
• Good driving history
• Competency reading and interpreting directions and work instructions
• Ability to operate heavy machinery
• Ability to create documentation both written and on computer
